Job Purpose and Impact

Join the newly established systematic trading team with Cargill's World trading group. The team is trading futures and options on commodities accross the globe (including China) with a focus on agricultural markets. It runs a diversified portfolio of non-fundamental and fundamental strategies in a fully systematic setup. The team is now looking to expand with a senior member who is familiar with S&D dynamics and who has already been successful in exploiting fundamental data in a systematic context in order to leverage the breadth of Cargill proprietary data. The core of the trading teams is located in Geneva. Key Accountabilities

Lead the discovery, prototyping and design of trading strategies relating to fundamental and non-fundamental influences on commodity markets.
Dive in Cargill’s proprietary dataset to extract trading signals or improve strategies
Benchmark, back test and stress-test models to identify true sensitivities and risks.
Maintain and enhance code repository and models infrastructure in a scalable fashion.
Monitor and improve existing portfolios
Provide expert thought leadership in your field and work with limited direction, using additional research and interpretation to identify issues or problems. You may provide direction to supporting team members and be a strategic contributor. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
Minimum of six years of related work experience
Other minimum qualifications may apply

Preferred Qualifications
Masters and/or PhD in a quantitative discipline (statistics, computer-science, engineering, quantitative finance, etc.)
Hands-on experience building infrastructure: Python proficiency + SQL proficiency, knowledge of OOP languages
Experience in systematic trading of agricultural markets and other commodities
Experience with fundamental and alternative datasets, as they are the source of Cargill’s edge
Systematic trading of commodities: signal, portfolio construction, cost control. No need to be familiar with building an execution platform.
Experience using fundamentals successfully e.g. usda/nass/nopa etc reports, stocks, weather/vessels/satellite imagery
Chinese markets experience
